The purpose of this blog is to chronicle a bike ride from Key West, Florida to Syracuse, NY to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). In the US alone, 80 people are diagnosed with Juvenile (Type 1) Diabetes EVERY DAY and one of them is my niece Katie. Please support JDRF by making a donation below.

Bridge to Fiesta Key
Shorter trip yesterday (57 miles) Had some minor mechanical difficulty, but found a Home Depot for parts. Tiki bar at the campground, $2.00 drafts. On to Key West this am to get the ferry to Ft. Meyers.
Met you the on Saturday morning shortly after you left Coral Gables. Hope your having a safe trip. I've been looking at bikes and hope to get a touring bike soon. I also wanted to remind you about Dave who has traveled from Seattle, Wa down the west coast, across the southern tier and down to Key West. He took the ferry to Ft Myers and is currently in North Carolina somewhere east of I-95. He has been documenting his journey on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/user/ThreeWheelJourney#p/u/30/apulYoMgSCY and on his blog at: http://threewheeljourney.blogspot.com/ You might want to subscribe to both and keep in touch since he is going to Maine and then back across the northern tier to Seattle this summer.
John,
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place to spend the night.
I saw the article in the paper yesterday and looked up your website. Good luck.
My retirement is not nearly as exciting as yours and have managed to get more than enough consulting support work to keep me busy.
I did make a donation but managed to send it directly to JDRF- oh well.
